There are stories of creation from the Southern Pomo and Coast Miwok tribes that once upon a time, all plants and animals were also people. Then, and even now, they each had lessons and teachings to share with us humans.
One of these people was Coyote, and it was he who created the world from atop of Sonoma Mountain. His village elders become the Redwood Trees, and they were crimson in color, to remind us that we are all of the same blood.
