Pausing

During your day, there are likely moments when you are unaware of the emotions that are running you, or perhaps times when you are carrying another person's bad mood with you. Taking a minute to pause during these busy times can allow for greater awareness of how we are showing up in the world.


Throughout the day, between each moment and even within moments, there is an opportunity to pause. And when we pause, it allows us to leave our busy minds, often wrapped up in busy moments, and create a space within us. This space creates a gap between our minds and the present moment, allowing for more clarity, patience, and open-mindedness.


What's even more wonderful is that by taking pauses, we can foster more of what we want to see in the world; whether we want that to be peace, joy, gratitude, or love, that is up to you, but these things are already there, in this very moment, waiting for you to notice and appreciate them.


Life offers us many natural pauses, from waiting in line at the store to being stopped at a traffic light or even taking a moment to breathe. These pauses were created for you to enjoy and savor; best of all, you get to decide what you’d like to do with them. So, we can choose to distract ourselves with things like overthinking or social media scrolling, or we can choose to make more mindful moments throughout our day with the pauses we are given.
