One could argue that we were set up perfectly for this world. We have bodies that were built and sustained with the food grown from the Earth. We have lungs to turn oxygen into energy for our cells. We have eyes to navigate the Earth and a brain to interpret what we see. We were gifted feet to roam and the pleasure of sensation so that we might smell, taste, and touch the environment around us.
That sounds like a miracle to me.
With the Universe giving us so much on a basic level, could we extrapolate to believe it's also working in more significant ways?
Yet, it doesn't feel easy to believe that the Universe cares whether or not I get a pay raise or achieve my next life goal. But why? Why is it so far-fetched? And if it doesn't care, does that mean it's automatically working against me? Sometimes, it feels that way when things don't go as I had hoped. But this would go against the more basic ways the Universe already supports me.
If we look back to some of our most significant challenges or losses, we can often find little gifts within them, things that remind us nothing is entirely bad or good but a balance of both. It would be a difficult life to believe the Universe is conspiring against you. What if, instead, we saw it as simply guiding you, giving you what you need to reach a greater state of awareness and learn more of who you are at your core?
I view the Universe as something that knows what's best, acting as a guiding hand, bringing us what we need but perhaps not always what we want. The support of the Universe can be more easily seen when we cultivate conscious gratitude. By seeing the good and the way things are working out, without negating and belittling out feelings (which can happen with toxic positivity), we can relax our need for control and allow things to happen on their own. We begin to see the calm, level ways of the Universe without putting our twist of stress and chaos in perspective. We can see the gentle ways we're held and supported, and when we release control (i.e., stop worrying, which makes us feel like we are in control but doesn't accomplish anything) and let go of what is not meant for us, we may welcome better things into our lives.
